Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is looking for a qualified professional to fill the position of a

 

 

Project Advisor on "health services" in Eastern Ukraine in Severodonetsk

 

 

for the project "Special Assistance Program for Eastern Ukraine (government-controlled areas) in Ukraine".

 

 

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ. It supports communities in the Regions Kramatorsk and Severodonezk strengthening local authorities and civil society organizations in improving and developing social and medical services. The maintenance of relevant social/ health infrastructure will be provided by the project. For that purpose, the project will coordinate and cooperate with a broad range of local/national and international partners and stakeholders.

 

 

Areas of responsibilities

 

 

  • managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior
  • assisting project initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups
  • innovation and knowledge management
  • assists and monitors the development and implementation of project plans and activities in close consultation with local counterparts within the region (for example: local authorities, NGOs, training institutes and international organizations) and implementing partners (such as hospitals, primary health centers etc.).
  • contributes to preparing and implementing the coordination process, joint project activities and work at the regional level
  • deals with the design, preparation and implementation of workshops, seminars and other events on issues connected with the project area of activity
  • develops and organises quality assurance measures and suggests necessary changes, improvements and initiatives
  • supports cooperation, regular contact and dialogue with partners, assists with PR work and cooperates with local communities, relevant organisations, non-governmental agencies and individuals in the project/programme environment and with other projects to improve and maintain good working relationships
  • communicates local interests and efforts, forwards these and encourages sharing ideas and information for the benefit of the project/programme
  • ensures knowledge transfer to project/programme information
  • develops ready-to-use strategies and technical concepts, including guidelines, manuals and procedures
  • draws up reports and presentation documents
  • assists with general project planning and develops project concepts including preparation, organisation and moderation of planning exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, quality management, evaluation, communication and documentation
  • coordinates relevant project activities at local level in consultation with the project director and in cooperation with the partners, both as regards implementation and preparing organisational aspects

 

 

Required qualifications, experience and competences

 

  • masters/MSc in an area that is related to the project/programme objectives, with a focus on a relevant field (such as health or social services, decentralization, policy reforms or any similar field)
  • at least 5 years' professional experience in a comparable position
  • very good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
  • fluent written and oral knowledge of the European language widely used in the country and a working knowledge of German
  • willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed - corresponding measures are agreed with management
