ABOUT THE POSITION 

You will be responsible for assisting the CEO (and in collaboration with external bookkeeping, tax and BPO vendors) in controlling the accounting and finance function of the company. This is a management-level position, which requires hands-on application of GAAP and FASB accounting rules. The ideal candidates possess the following key characteristics:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The vast majority of your time will be spent on the following: 

  • Analyze and optimize existing financial and operational processes.

  • Streamline vendor relationships.

  • Identify and resolve audit and control gaps.

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for the CEO and board.

  • Payment of our independent contractors.

  • With CEO and department heads, develop and control budgets and purchases associated with them.

  • Work with our US bookkeeping firm to ensure month-end expense classifications and successful books closings.

  • Work with our European BPO to process our staff's payment files efficiently.

  • Run US employee payroll.

  • On behalf of CEO, manage assigned governance matters, including correspondence and coordination with US federal and state agencies.

This is a full-time, remote position. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 


  • MANDATORY:  At least five years of experience as an accountant or similar position.

  • MANDATORY:  Current or recent experience with Quickbooks.

  • MANDATORY:  Current or recent experience working within a US or Western European company.

  • MANDATORY:  Detailed knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.

  • Excellent email communication skills – cohesive, logical and effective. 

  • Current experience using the entire MS Office suite, including MS Excel.
