IT Service Desk is a team that provides a single point of contact for SoftServe associates within a company. The purpose of IT Service Desk is to ensure that users receive appropriate help in a timely manner. One of the functions of the IT Service Desk is Service Catalog, as a unified place with all internal services. It gives a streamlined view of what services are available to SoftServe associates, information about them, and the possibility to resolve some issues or cover their requests for information using the user manuals.

YOU ARE

Our perfect candidate has a grip on understanding the business aspect of client’s products and delivering all kinds of user assistance. You are to communicate with system-oriented developers and business-oriented stakeholders effectively, drive full-dress investigation before getting down to presenting your findings to the audience, and organize various types of information into self-contained pieces.

  • 1-2 years of working experience as a Technical Communicator, Technical Writer, or Information Developer
  • Advanced or proficient level of English
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • A grasp of plain English guidelines and international writing standards (Microsoft, Apple, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Knowledge about Microsoft Style Guide
  • At least theoretical technical background
  • Practice with authoring tools like Adobe Technical Communication Suite, MadCap Flare, Confluence, or Zendesk
  • Skill in working in screen-capturing and video development tools
  • Attention to details, striving to immerse in technical peculiarities
  • At least basic skills of video creation

YOU WANT TO WORK WITH

  • Performing relevant project investigation: available requirements for user assistance, including scope, end-users, TC tools, acceptance criteria, and brand recommendations
  • Conforming to the TechComm project requirements, following style recommendations and guidelines
  • Templating efficiently, developing simple document templates from scratch
  • Preparing an outline for user assistance and developing topic or sections
  • Arranging the material in such a way as to ensure usability and convenient navigation
  • Interviewing subject matter experts: preparing appropriate material for the interview, conducting, and using the information received for the documentation development, clarifying details when necessary
  • Ensuring that SMEs providing technical review of your content
  • Developing simple technical illustrations (diagrams, workflows, and similar)
  • Designing presentation following brand and basic composition rules
  • Following project schedule and priorities, estimating TC tasks to plan and align your own work
  • Reviewing own content for linguistic, technical, and spelling mistakes as well as for brand compliance
  • Following established processes for content development
  • Creating simple videos for the product (simulation and/or animation)
