About Client: 

Client is one of the largest commercial threat intelligence teams in the world, comprised of world-class researchers, analysts and engineers. Product defends client's customers against known and emerging threats, discovers new vulnerabilities in common software, and interdicts threats in the wild before they can further harm the internet at large.

 

 

Job Purpose: 

We are looking for level 2 Linux technical support engineer. Our ideal candidate is interested in supporting IaaS/PaaS products and can execute specialized tasks to support our production software. This includes: working on an enterprise backend application; and troubleshooting and investigating issues relayed by L1 Support or by monitoring system. Our L2 Support Engineer should also be able to monitor the application to remain aware of problems and identify their cause. We're looking for candidates with 1 year experience in technical support, a strong interest in scripting, and an aptitude for creative problem-solving. Researching, diagnosing, troubleshooting and identifying solutions to resolve system issues.

  • Atlassian Jira/Confluence
  • CVS/GIT

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting issues by going through the log files
  • Writing simple SQL queries
  • Responding quickly and intelligently to production issues
  • Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams
  • Working in shifts with a pre-defined schedule (this includes work on weekends sometimes from evening till midnight, during public holidays, having day offs in the middle of the week)
  • Working with ticketing systems (service desk)

 

 

Skills & Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience with Linux/FreeBSD as an L2 support engineer
  • Possess a strong interest in Unix Shell scripting (RHEL/FreeBSD) along with database knowledge
  • An eagerness to learn and utilize new technology
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills are needed to maintain software and discuss issues
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field
