Middle C++ Developer

Job Requirements:
— 2+ years of commercial experience with C/C++;
— Willingness and ability to learn and write on other languages than C++;
— Unit testing;
— UML & OOAD;
— Upper-Intermediate level of English.

As a plus:
— LINUX (embedded) and/or QNX;
— TCP/UDP-IP;
— CAN Bus;
— RPC;
— Requirements engineering;
— Knowledge of Java;

About project:
The project is for a German customer specializing in traffic management solutions. Cooperation with this client is sturdy and is steadily growing, there are already 7 teams enrolled and the number keeps increasing.
Currently, we are looking for a self-motivated developer to strengthen our Scrum team working on the application level of traffic controllers software. The application which is currently under development is written in Java, however, for new modules, a gradual migration to C++ is planned.
The controllers are for switching traffic lights on/off at intersections, they are installed in cabinets next to intersections.
The core properties of such a system are:
— Core system is human safety-critical and is SIL3 certified
— On top of core runs business logic that optimizes the traffic flow by controlling the red and green phases of the various lanes & roads
— Many of these controllers (intersections) are very often connected to a centralized traffic supervisor server and need to implement proper interfaces for such connections
— To make this all running, such controllers are based on ARM or INTEL CPU’s with LINUX (Busy box), logging facilities, and so on.
We are also working on cutting edge innovations, such as vehicle-to-infrastructure (in our case vehicle-to-controller) communication.
