Plant project engineer

Our business is significantly growing in Europe. We are looking to create a new engineering hub in Central Europe (the location has not been confirmed yet). We are looking to secure the very best talent interested in joining this our new venture and willing to relocate to the area where the new hub will be eventually located.

We are looking for a Plant Project Engineer to join our Large Projects Group Europe and to work on plant asset relocations and/or lifetime extension projects related to on-site contracts renewals, i.e. new contracts, contract roll-ons, upgrades and closures. This will involve the standard assets and technologies, such as High Purity Nitrogen generators, Hydrogen Reformer generators, Vacuum Swing Absorption, Pressure Swing Absorption and Membranes.

The PlantProject Engineer leads a project team and assumes responsibility for and ownership of the project safety, budget, schedule and technical aspects to achieve the project and business objectives established at the start of the project. A typical project team consists of experts within our organisation and may also include external contractors and consultants.

As a Project Engineer, you will

• Execute/manage projects dedicated to effective plant relocations in/across European countries, plant refurbishments for contract roles and any related plant and equipment upgrades, using the project development and execution process
• Cooperate with dedicated teams within the organisation and discipline engineers on proposals and cost estimates for relocations, refurbishments and upgrades
• Define scope and budget for plant relocations, refurbishments and upgrades so that contractual requirements are met at the required quality
• Take on responsibility for strategies for plant relocations, refurbishments and upgrades for effective and low-cost solutions
• Coordinate resources to projects throughout project lifetime
• Be an end-to-end owner of the plant relocation, refurbishment and upgrade process, and maintain and look for improvement in the process for idle assets
• Work on other projects to balance work load

As a Project Engineer, you will need to have

• Broad general technical knowledge in the disciplines, such as Process, Machinery, Electrical, Control and Instrumentations
• Ability to lead construction safety management, including safety audits and implementation of Air Products safety requirements.
• Leadership in safety, cost, scope definition and execution
• Ability to adequately and timely coordinate the project members to meet the project's goals
• Ability to deal with unexpected events and unique situations during the project
• Ability to distinguish between the contractual needs and desires of the customer to manage and resolve scope issues that may arise
• Ability to communicate and cooperate with internal teams and external contacts, such as customers, contractors, legal entities, equipment vendors
• Perseverance to work through obstacles and remain tenacious
• Skills for negotiating, resolving differences, and developing consensus to secure win/win agreements, structured approach
• Ability to attain, share and maintain appropriate knowledge and skills within the group
• Good teamwork, interpersonal, organizing and coordinating skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel for shorter site inspections (days) and longer plant construction periods (weeks).
• Fluent English required
