System Administrator

PortaOne, a company created by Ukrainians in 1997, is now a global software developer for modern telecommunications. The PortaOne platform, PortaSwitch, is a fundamental part of the business infrastructure for more than 470 service providers and telecommunications companies in ~ 90 countries

We are looking for a System administrator who will join our office in Chernihiv.

• Operation systems: CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Windows
• Hypervisors: Proxmox, vmware, VirtualBox
• Linux administration: dovecot, exim, sendmail, spamassassin, DNS, DHCP, Squid, iptables
• Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL
• IP Networking: BGP, RIP, OpenVPN, IPSec
• LAN hardware: Cat5 infrastructure, hubs, switches, routers, WiFi (Cisco, MikroTik)
• IP Telephony: QoS, SIP

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, security, efficiency and cost effectiveness of the company's internal and external systems (~200 servers)
• Manage our hardware and software assets to ensure that our current and future needs are met
• Anticipate and plan for future requirements
• Provide occasional technical support to MS Windows users (up to 20 workstations)

Key Objectives

• Maximized system availability, security and efficiency and management of a continuous improvement program;
• Complete and up-to-date backup sets and disaster recovery processes; Continual development of the skill set to keep the company systems in line with current best practices.

Skills

• Pre-intermediate English or higher
• Keen interest in and knowledge of computer technologies extending beyond day-to-day requirements of the role
• Ability to work independently to devise and execute a plan of action
• Good communication skills, ability to work well with less experienced computer users as well as with a knowledgeable team
• Professional discipline and business ethics, ability and readiness to follow rules and procedures
