SUMMARY
AppOps Engineer (Support Engineer) is responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operations of the our Client software (https://gainsystems.com), hardware and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The AppOps Engineer should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. The position requires having the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. The goal will be to ensure that our technology software and infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and reliable operation of GAINS software, computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
- Carry out daily tasks such as troubleshooting, configuration of SaaS environments, restoring environments, and refreshing data
- Troubleshoot software application performance by reviewing log files and running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
- Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of services and system software and related infrastructure/SaaS environments.
- Responsible for sizing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting SaaS environment in
Microsoft Azure
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of SaaS environments
- Monitor backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Responsible for capacity, SaaS resource planning, and database performance

Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years of database, network administration, Azure administration, system administration experience
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of systems and Azure networking, software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
