Mechanical Designer - tire production technology

Job description:

As a Mechanical Designer - tire production technology at Continental Tires you are part of a central team who is developing and realizing production methods in the material preparation area for the company's worldwide tire production facilities according with Continental's quality and efficiency requirements, ensuring competitive processes in line with the company strategy.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Development a process to store, maintain and change drawing sets of material handling equipment for all plants ww
• 3D designing, updating and publishing drawing sets in addition to revising existing drawing sets
• Develop and continuous improve machine specifications as a Continental standard (MES), especially in the area of material handling devices
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills with high attention to details and passion for quality
• Project based design creations using Autodesk Inventor
• Supporting plant projects in manufacturing material handling equipment by technical consultation with suppliers
• Give support to Engineering Tires members in regards to mechanical design/plant layouts
• Development of "best cost" suppliers and provide technical support to purchasing department
• Give advice to plants during the whole processing of approved investments and projects
• Be consultant for the plants in case of machine breakdowns
• Challenge capital requests from the plants and assist during preparation
  

  Job requirements:

• Several years of experience in design of mechanical assemblies
• Very good knowledge in Autodesk Inventor
• Good knowledge in MS Office
• Experience and competence in project management
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), additional German language skills appreciated
• Independent, self-organized work style with minimal direction

(office in CZ, functional lead in D)

• Advanced skills in analyzing, planning and problem solving
• Assertiveness and solution­oriented mindset
• Strong networking and communication skills as well as intercultural competencies
• Ability for teamwork in an international working environment
• University degree in engineering with focus on mechanical design (3D)
