Trainee Network Test Engineer (IRC179062)

GlobalLogic is inviting Trainee Network Test Engineer to join our engineering team.

The product is Residential Gateways software deployed in millions of quantities around the globe in different devices. For more than 5 years GlobalLogic team of 40+ engineers develops new models and maintains an installed base.

Requirements:

• Computer Science-related degree
• Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack, understanding of OSI model and most common communication protocols (DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, ARP)
• Basic Knowledge of Wi-Fi networks and standards
• Experience in networks administration
• Proficient Linux user
• Good written and spoken English

Responsibilities:

Become a part of the QA Team that is responsible for the residential gateway’s firmware quality. Regular Network Test Engineer activities are:

• Preparation of a specific setup/environment for the testing process (Linux-based in most cases), doing fixes verifications
• Validation of basic router’s functionality (xDSL/Ethernet/DOCSIS connectivity, WiFi, Routing, Firewall, NAT, DNS, DHCP/PPP, etc)
• Validation of customer-specific functionality (VoIP, HotSpots, GSM Modem support, etc)
• Participation in other functional, non-functional, stress, stability, and regression testing, writing test reports by using existing testing base
• Technical specification analysis, technical requirements review, creating the test cases
