BMC Discovery is a foundational component of the BMC's suite of enterprise solutions.

This role is to join the R&D team responsible for building and maintaining the BMC Discovery

product.

About the team: We are a small R&D team within BMC Software, based in Victoria in London, with associates in France and Ukraine. The team consists of 8 QA engineers and 17 Developers. We are passionate about the product we build and place quality and customer satisfaction as our top priorities. We also believe that working in the team should be enjoyable and to this end, we have an excellent working environment a relaxed atmosphere and we have regular 'innovation days' where everyone works on side projects. Requirements:

• The RoleBMC Atrium Discovery Knowledge Team is recruiting for an experienced Knowledge Developer Engineer to join our team. This person will work as part of the ADDM Content team located in UK and Ukraine to increase and improve key value-add components of ADDM - the software product patterns (fingerprints). The software product patterns are written in a domain-specific scripting language used to describe and model the software BMC Discovery is discovering.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate software product fingerprint requirements (ex of vendors: Oracle, IBM, Microsoft...)
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software product fingerprints
• Document knowledge gained for internal use as well as used by our customers
• Actively participate in process improvement efforts

Key Skills:

• 0-1 years of scripting language development skills (Perl, Python, UNIX shell)
• Overall work experience of 0-1 years, ideally in 1st or 2nd level Support or Junior System Administrator role, user-level experience in either Linux/UNIX or Windows environments(ideally both UNIX/Linux and Windows)
• Understanding of software development practices (code clarity, code testing, code quality)
• Very Good to Excellent English language skills, both oral and written
• Collaborative and cross-team work experience

Desirable Skills:

• Understanding of UNIX or Windows systems in depth
• Able to work and meet targets with minimal supervision
• Experience in documenting own project work to the standard suitable for distribution to the (English speaking) customers
• Agile Development- Tools: Rally, Confluence, P4, Jira, etc
