Lead Software Engineer (C/Embedded) (IRC84966)

GlobalLogic Ukraine is inviting a Lead Software Engineer (C/Embedded) to join its Kyiv office.

Our customer is a US-based multinational company. Being one of the largest telecommunication conglomerates worldwide, it offers broadband, video and other wireless and wireline services to consumers, businesses, governments and wholesale customers.

Within a project team, you will contribute to the development and integration of the dedicated location library designated for various LTE products. The library is a part of the customer's high precision location detection architecture and is designed to be used as a part of various tracker applications and appliances. Among others, you will be involved in software design, feature development, bug-fixing, integration support, power consumption and performance optimizations of the developed library.

Requirements

• BA/MS degree in software engineering, computer science, or other related field

• At least 5 years of experience in Software Development, including at least 2 years of experience in software development for embedded devices

• At least 1 year of experience of leading a software development team

• Strong experience in the C programming language

• RTOS development experience (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, eCos, etc.)

• Experience with POSIX interface

• Good knowledge of Linux operating system (or any other UNIX-based OS), including networking and configuration

• Good knowledge of the computer networks (Ethernet, TCP/IP, Wireless, cellular)

• Excellent communication skills

• Excellent problem solving and investigation skills

• Knowledge of software design principles (SOLID, etc.)

• Upper-Intermediate or above spoken and written English

Preferences

• Taking part in the development of the radio communications related projects (LTE, WiMAX, 3GPP, WiFi, etc.)
• Experience with various location and positioning technologies (GPS, A-GPS, LPP, SUPL, OTDOA , WiFi-based location, etc.) will be a major plus
• Experience in the development of Open Mobile Alliance protocols (OMA DM, LwM2M) will be a major plus

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership for the scrum team

• Take part in project planning and task scheduling according to the defined milestones

• Mentoring and supervising of the team members, providing feedback and guidance

• Communicating with the customer representatives, including engineering and management teams

• Participate in defining the software design of the solution

• Participate in the development of new features and bug-fixing for the developed solutions

• Participate in the analysis, diagnosis and troubleshooting of the complex parts of the developed solution

• Cooperate with other teams and customer technical representatives to follow up bug resolution, design of new features, etc.
