Lead Java Engineer (IRC86029)

GlobalLogic Ukraine is inviting a Lead Java Engineer to join its Mykolaiv office.

Our project is focused on enhancing channel partner program productivity and profitability by automating marketing, sales and operational processes.

Our customer is US-based company Zift Solutions, the Enterprise Channel Management leader and long-term business partner of GlobalLogic.

We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team and help continue the growth of Zift Solutions channel marketing platform. We are looking for talented individuals that have a strong sense of accountability and urgency in meeting tasks, able to work independently, as well as within a cross-functional team environment.

Successful candidate will work in a friendly development team through all phases of product development including design, implementation and release. We encourage our engineers to study new technologies and bring fresh ideas that can benefit the project.

Requirements

• 5+ years of work experience as Software Developer
• Strong Java work experience
• Java EE (or Spring Framework) work experience
• Java coding best practices
• OOP and Design patterns
• Experience and/or familiarity with the following systems and programs -

Database: Hibernate, SQL;

Open Source Stacks: Apache projects, Commons, etc.;

Web Development: JavaScript - for example jQuery, AngularJS etc; HTML5 and CSS3; Bootstrap 3;

Automated Test Frameworks and Tools: JUnit, Spock, EasyMock, etc.

• Experience with using and writing REST web services
• Understanding of the software development cycle, specifically Agile/Scrum and Kanban
• Strong communication skills
• English skills at intermediate level or higher
• Pro-active team player
• Leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Develop reusable software modules and components, technical design and enhancements of existing solution
• Develop and support microservice architecture
• Identify production and non-production application issues
• Recommend changes to improve established Java application processes
• Implement unit and integration tests
• Demo new features and fixed defects to service team
• Study new technologies and bring fresh ideas that can benefit the project

As about leadership experience the candidate should be able to:

• Lead and coordinate a team of software engineers;
• Create a mindset and culture within the software development team that embraces identifying, owning, and solving issues, driving quality, improving performance, and improving the customer experience
• Mentor and train junior developers about software development best practices and techniques.
