Junior QA Engineer (Automation Testing)

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIRED SKILLS:

We are looking for a Junior level QA Engineers - Automation Testing. Ideal candidates will possess the following technical skills and experience:

· 12+ month of proven work experience in software quality assurance

·  English skill (both spoken and written should be good enough to participate in live calls with foreigners)

· Hands-on experience with automated testing tools

· Restful API knowledge

· Basic knowledge of SQL

· Experience with JSON data format

· Linux terminal experience

· Experience with any programming language (JS preferably)

· Web UI testing and debugging experience

· Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes

· Knowledge of writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases

· Hands-on experience with black box testing

· Experience with browser dev tools

· Knowledge of bug life cycle

· Knowledge of an Agile/Scrum development process 

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

·  Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

·  Analytical thinking. Good communication skills. "Problem-solver" thinking. Passionate attitude. Attentive to details

·  Good sense of humor

· Detail oriented, with good organizational skills.

· Self-motivated, with a pro-active approach to quality management.

· Results oriented, able to multi-task, a quick learner

· An inclination to adopt new technology or systems rapidly to maximize efficiency

· Technical writing skills and experience

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases, maintain them on an appropriate level of quality

· Plan and coordinate testing activities

· Identify, record, document thoroughly and track issues

· Verify issue fixes and perform confirmation testing

· Perform thorough regression testing for new builds

· Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements

· Monitor debugging process results

· Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts

· Teach and mentoring newcomers

WORKING CONDITIONS

Full-time/remote (home-based)/long-term position. 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday-Friday. The working schedule is flexible enough, mostly it's close to the Eastern time zone. Home-based working environment. Cross-functional interactions. PTO included (1 month of your work = 1 paid day off).
