Director of Distribution & Logistics

We are searching, on behalf of our client, a large international company with multiple production facilities worldwide, for an experienced Director of Distribution & Logistics.

Key responsibilities:

• Be responsible for directing all distribution and storage logistics activities associated with receiving, storing and shipping manufactured raw material.
• Creating and executing efficient, effective and safe distribution operations, encompassing all aspects of the distribution supply chain (incoming receipts through to outgoing shipments) for multiple distribution operation facilities.
• Utilizing lean business methodologies to create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement focused on enhancing supplier relationships and ensuring optimized customer experiences.
• Lead and champion policies, processes and efforts that increase efficiency, profitability, and sustain company goals, objectives and growth
• Ensuring continuous improvement to achieve enhanced supplier relationships and exceptional customer satisfaction
• Ensure a safe, efficient and team-oriented work culture within the facilities, driving all employees under their responsibility to optimized work experience and desire to achieve superior results
• Develop relationships with functional departments and supply chain teams to ensure cohesive planning and alignment
• Proactively identify operational risks and lead collaboration with other departments (quality, manufacturing etc.) to effectively and rapidly resolve problems
• Execute all facets of the distribution operations processes to provide optimized customer service levels
• Utilize statistical techniques in analysis and continuous improvement of efficient warehouse operations
• Ensure processes align with regulatory compliance
• Ensure warehouse teams follow appropriate processes and procedures, leading changes or improvements as needed while removing barriers when necessary
• Develop and deploy best practices including warehouse management and transportation management
• Evaluate the optimal location for warehouse locations including evaluation and utilization of warehouse facilities
• Train and develop team
• Lead and participate in cross-functional projects.

Key requirements:

• University degree in logistics, management, transportation, finance, engineering or other related field
• Additional logistics training
• Minimum 5 years of experience within a similar role with a large production company, either international or local
• Experience in continual improvement production environment
• Mandatory experience in distribution and storage, with a large number of storage facilities under management and control  
• Strong knowledge of effective warehouse operation handling and storage processes and procedures.
• Clear understanding of storage, distribution, shipping and product flow efficiency and domestic and international practices.
• Knowledge of inventory management.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines maintaining a pleasant, professional attitude towards others.
• Ability to work through a problem and maintain focus with little or no supervision.
• Flexibility and multi-tasking, ability to undertake several tasks at once.
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence and persuade across all levels of the organization.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience in managing multiple and overtime shifts.
• Good English, in addition to Ukrainian and Russian
