Collections Specialist

Maersk Ukraine Finance team is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Collections Specialist to follow up with customers on outstanding payments/debt so that the organization is not exposed to credit risk and cash flow is maintained.


Job description:


  • Maintain a customer centric attitude with timely attendance to phone calls and e-mails from customers.
  • Follow up proactively with customers for the collection of outstanding debt for the services delivered, control over release procedure.
  • Carry out periodic reconciliations with customers on their balances with Maersk and SeaLand.
  • Clear open items in customer balances, manage relevant corrections and cross company transfers.
  • Ensure timely clearing of payments posted in suspense account.
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders on outstanding/overdue and payment performance of customers.
  • Follow dunning procedure for collection of overdue debt and coordinate legal procedures as relevant.
  • Follow sound internal control practices as established by Global SOPs.
  • Establish good work relationships with internal and external customers to reach common goals.


Your profile:


  • Finance/Accounting related university degree is a strong advantage.
  • Preferably 3 years professional experience in finance e.g. AR/collection or customer service.
  • Working experience with SAP is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of MS Office Applications, particularly MS Excel.
  • Excellent/native command in Ukrainian.
  • Fluency in English is a strong advantage.
  • Organizational and time management skills, multi-tasking, prioritizing, planning work activities efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Ability to liaise comfortably and respectfully with clients, over the phone, email and in person.
  • Proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience of work with customers from different segments are preferable.
