About IKEA in Ukraine

In December 2017, IKEA announced intention to enter the Ukrainian market.

IKEA wants to contribute to a better everyday life for the many people in Ukraine by bringing affordable home furnishing products and solutions to Ukraine.

“We are bringing our vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people to Ukraine. We are responding to strong customer demands to bring our wide range of affordable home furnishing products closer to people,” says Stefan Vanoverbeke, Country Retail Manager for IKEA South East Europe, the organization that runs the operations in Ukraine.

IKEA South East Europe is also handling the IKEA retail operations in Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Slovenia. IKEA SEE is part of IKEA Group (Ingka Holding B.V.), the largest IKEA franchisee.

Vision and Business Idea

The IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people − customers, co-workers, suppliers and their employees and other stakeholders affected by IKEA’s operations.

Company’s business idea is to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them.

Most of the time, beautifully designed home furnishings are usually created for the few who can afford them.
From the beginning, IKEA has taken a different path and decided to side with the many.

That means responding to the home furnishing needs of people around the world: people with many different needs, tastes, dreams, aspirations and wallet sizes; people who want to improve their homes and their everyday lives.
This is achieved through designing IKEA products to combine function, quality, design and value - always with sustainability in mind.

IKEA re-invests a majority of its profits in existing and new stores, as well as in product development, sustainable solutions and by continuously lowering prices to its customers.
