We are looking for Art Director (game development)

 

Qualifications:

Thorough understanding of all aspects of game development process, from design methodology to craftsmanship and production.

Multi years experience managing/mentoring art teams, and preferred ship titles as Art Director or in a senior management level.

Experience in Unreal Engine.

Experience on the pc/console game development market.

Solid understanding of cutting edge Art development processes, limitations and dependencies across mediums, including interactive (games, web, devices) and VFX (for film or TV - including matte painting, compositing, art direction).

Successful candidate has to demonstrate an understanding of a range of Art/Design styles, with confident foundation of Art/Design history and up-to-date with current visual influencers across the entertainment and tech industries.

Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal confidence. Hands-on art talent: ability to create concept art, storyboards, sketches, animatics, assemble reference and mood boards, write creative briefs and visual guidelines.

Strong narrative and problem-solving skills; able to visually express different types of story sequence as well as illustrate functionality.

In-depth mastery of 2D and 3D art and animation packages, including Photoshop and at least one industry standard

Good command of English.

 

Responsibilities:

Maintaining the Aesthetic of the title as it relates to the overall IP vision.

Mentoring and managing artists across various sub-disciplines (modeling/props, animation, FX, etc).

Help define and set the visual tone and "vision" of titles in development. Maintain the "pillars" of a project and style that can inform all disciplines, inside and out of the art department, updating and changing as necessary.

Partner with other creative leads to ensure that other disciplines - inside and out of the art department- can use to inform directions and decisions.

Facilitating proper support of design and technology.

Prioritizing art tasks and tech needs, broadcasting to the team, while providing a comfortable environment for cross-discipline feedback.

Creating a safe environment for people to feedback across disciplines and turning valid feedback into actionable tasks.

Help influence a culture of quality, balancing purposeful experimentation with the larger needs of the project.
