Senior Program Officer: Research and Evaluation

The International Charitable Foundation "Alliance for Public Health" (Alliance) is a leading non-governmental professional organization which makes a significant impact on the epidemics of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis, and other dangerous diseases in Ukraine in collaboration with key state partners and civil society organizations through providing financial and technical support to relevant programs covering over 300,000 members of the most vulnerable populations in Ukraine, which is the highest coverage in Europe.

PURPOSE: to lead and support the development of data analysis, collection and data management activities ensuring the state and internationally required scientific standards.

Contract Type: full time, fixed-term labor contract till 29/09/2020

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of five years relevant experience in HIV- or public health or social science related researches which includes:

1. Data analysis
2. Research Protocols/Proposal development
3. Program research management involving multiple stakeholders
4. Leading, managing and conducting research projects involving international researchers on issues related to HIV studies

• University degree in public health, sociology, epidemiology or related field. (Ph.D or International Master degree is preferred);
• Consulting with program managers, decision-makers and policy actors to identify research needs
• Strong writing and editing ability; experience in writing proposal sections and concept notes is preferred;
• Strong skills in statistical data analysis using R/SPSS/Stata/SAS or other relevant software;
• Strong skills in databases management using SQL or other relevant language;
• Strong skills in qualitative data coding and analysis using MAXQDA or other relevant software;
• Strong skills in geovisualization of epidemiological data;
• Knowledge and experience in planning and conducting social or epidemiological researches;
• Knowledge in IRB requirements and operations is appreciated
• Previous involvement in interventional studies or studies of program effectiveness;
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals;
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills;
• Self-starter, well-organized, with an ability to prioritize among multiple competing requests;
• Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines;
• Ability to proactively work independently and as an effective team member;
• High level of computer literacy, especially in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook;
• Personal commitment, flexibility, efficiency and drive for results;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Ukrainian and English;
• Able to travel up to 10% of the working time.
