JOB SUMMARY:

The Night Manager is the Manager on Duty and responsible for all hotel operations during overnight shift hours, focusing on Front Office operations, night audit and hotel safety/security.

The Night Manager assists the Front Office Manager in all aspects of the department including but not limited to operations, planning, budgeting, staffing and payroll in accordance with hotel policies and procedures. The Night Manager provides leadership and support to all members of the Front Office and enforces Hotel Standards of Excellence in all areas supervised.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the property Manager on Duty and oversees all property operations during the overnight shift.
  • Ensures that the highest levels of hospitality and service are provided during the overnight shift.
  • Represents property management in resolving any guest or property related situation.
  • Personally assisting in resolving any issues and completing tasks.
  • Attend the internal communication meetings and training of the Front Office Department.
  • Has knowledge of the authorities to contact such hospitals, polices, taxis in case of an emergency.
  • Note down the night activities and everything that needs to be reported to the Front Office Manager in the night report log.
  • Monitor and control the wake up calls.
  • Perform his/her duty according to the practices, operational instructions and procedures identified by the Front Office Manager.
  • Insures guests' satisfaction by resolving and taking appropriate actions on all guests' complaints.
  • Prepare pre-night and post-night reports.
  • Show fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
  • Is aware of the daily activities and has product knowledge of all the hotel facilities.
  • Assures safety and security of the guests, visitors, employees and protects the property by working closely with hotel's security personnel.
  • Familiarity with all Front Desk and Cashiering functions.
  • Manage and monitor activities of all employees in the Front Office department making sure they adhere to the standards of excellence and to the guidelines set in the employee handbook, hotel policies and procedures, coaching, training and correcting where needed.
  • Maintain a professional and high-quality service oriented environment at all times.
  • Act as manager on duty for the hotel in the absence of the Front Office Manager dealing with complaints, problem-solving, disturbances, special requests and any other issues that may arise.
  • Manage the night shift in the department ensuring all employees perform the tasks assigned to them and coordinate Front Office activities with other departments.
  • Inform all Overnight staff of nightly activities, group and VIP arrivals as well as special requests and repeat guests.

 

Requirements:

  • Relevant work experience in the similar position at least for 5 years;
  • Fluent English and Russian (speaking and writing);
  • Accuracy and attention to details;
  • Being able to work in a team;
  • Display a positive and creative approachable attitude;
  • Hotel experience is mandatory;
  • Good communicative, organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills;
  • Willingness to work under the pressure.
