English Teacher (Senior)

Job Title: Full-Time Senior English Teacher Position

School: British Study Centres Ukraine

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Delivery of EFL programmes and related activities to ensure the most effective and enjoyable learning experience for all British Study Centres students. You will be working with a team of EFL teachers to deliver effective EFL programmes. You will be expected to work with all teachers and the Director of Studies and liaise with all staff at the school to fulfil the duties of the role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teaching on a range of EFL courses of varying age groups as required and in line with the set syllabus schedule devised by the Academic Director and the needs of the learners.
• Teaching lessons according to the Teacher Handbook and all PDR and accreditation criteria for TEFLI/TEFLQ teachers.
• Monitoring student progress through review tests and adapting these to the needs of the class if necessary.
• Providing cover for absent teachers according to the needs of the school.
• Ensuring that all students receive the necessary amount of time designated for tutorials.
• Participating in arrangements for future training and professional development as a teacher.
• Reviewing methods of teaching and programmes of work through Professional Development Reviews and observations, and in discussion with the Academic Management Team.
• Participating in all observation programmes, for both developmental and quality control purposes including peer observations and other observations conducted by managers, senior teachers, teacher trainers, trainees, admin staff, agents and other internal and external clients.
• Participating in professional development and keeping personal records of this to present at PDRs and other meetings.
• Attending all staff meetings and INSETs as required and contributing ideas for the continual gathering and development of academic resources.
• Giving seminars/workshops during meetings to aid the personal and professional development of all staff.
• To be able to deliver lessons to CELTA/Trinity Cert. TESOL level standards.
• The ability to work as part of a team along with other staff.
• Readiness to be flexible and adaptable in dealing with the requirements of the position.
• A friendly, open and caring personality, relating well to all types of students.
• Willingness to participate in student clubs.
• Holds a CELTA/Trinity Cert. TESOL or is keen to work towards this qualification in the near future.
• At least one year's full-time teaching experience to a variety of levels and on different courses.
• A good understanding of current developments in EFL.
• Evidence of continuous professional development.

• Evidence of continuous professional development.
