Data Team Lead for Lohika Customer Service Platform

Purpose of the job:

The client is a fast-growing VC-backed startup in San Francisco that provides a holistic customer service platform that revolutionizes B2C communications from the bottom up. Absolutely best-in-class leadership team, and the VP of Engineering is one of the Co-Founders. The platform allows their users to focus on customer communication throughout a lifetime of naturally productive conversations. The client service platform provides seamless communication options across any channel from voice, email, messaging, chat, and social media.

The team is responsible for data warehousing and reporting component of the system, and will add new features, optimize and re-design schema, storage, and pipelines in close collaboration with other engineering teams.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Play the Team Lead and Scrum master role, manage a team of 2+ Lohika engineers
  • Work according to Agile development process in a close collaboration with the client engineers and project stakeholders
  • Research, evaluate, estimate, and implement technical solution for business requirements
  • Suggest technical and functional improvements to add value to the product
  • Ensures effective communication between all stakeholders (team members, other Lohika staff, customer side) which is related to team's Areas of Responsibilities (AOR) and deliveries.
  • Drives deployment and operational requirements of projects.
  • Reviews code and proposes improvements.
  • Depending on the team size, may be involved in implementation work.
  • Capable to coordinate teamwork of all involved parties.
  • Reports to Engineering Manager/Senior Team Lead about area readiness/quality and raises red flags in crisis situations beyond his/her AOR

 

Education, skills and experience:

  • 5+ years of experience with building, maintaining and optimizing data warehousing solutions
  • Proven expertise in PostgreSQL
  • Experience with BI Tools (such as MicroStrategy/Datapine/Looker or any other)
  • Focus on quality and wholistic view of the solution
  • Participation in architecture and design sessions on a regular basis
  • Excellent communication skills with at least Upper-Intermediate level of English

 

Would be a plus:

  • Understanding of start-up culture and experience of working with start-up companies
  • Knowledge of Big data technologies, such as Hive/Hadoop, Spark,
  • Experience in Snowflake, AWS Redshift, HP Vertica, Terradata, Azure DWH, Google BigQuery, AirFlow, Alooma
