PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Our customer is one of the leading companies in healthcare data analysis through powerful AI-driven technology.
The company possesses advanced data processing, analytics and engineering expertise. Therefore, it is a huge infrastructure with a lot of niches for engineering and development.
As a part of the team, a candidate's mission is an investigation of the existing analytic platform, based on Scala and AWS Cloud services, as well as updating and maintaining it in a long-term perspective.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop API endpoints
- Develop microservices
- Develop data processing modules using Kafka/Spark
- Take part in requirements analyzes
- Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
- Interact with customer and provide technical solutions
- Implement new features
- Update and support of the existing functionality
- Conduct code reviews
- Drive features from conception to deployment in an agile team with continual delivery
- Provide support to QA and other teams
- Status, tasks, risks and progress reporting
- Be a technical mentor for less experienced team members
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
MUST HAVE:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field/degree, and/or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience in developing software at scale
- Commercial Scala Dev experience, 1+ year
- Experience with AWS cloud provider, at least with EC2 and S3 services
- Strong experience with relational database
- Unit testing experience
- Think at scale, and with high availability
- Can work with cross-team members on large and complex projects
- Can break down a complex situation and come up with an elegant solution
- Sufficient English level for communication (verbal & written)
- Fast research and learning skills
WOULD BE A PLUS:
- Experience with Apache Kafka
- Experience with Nosql solutions like Mongo or Cassandra
- Experience with Redis
- Experience with Apache Hive
- Experience with Graylog
- Java and Python skills
