Junior Implementation Engineer (Java)

SPS Commerce makes it easy for retailers, suppliers, distributors, and logistics companies to work better together by making their trading relationships stronger, collaborative, and profitable through EDI and other retail technology services.

At SPS Commerce, Trading Partner Development (TPD) team connects Retailers to the easiest-to-join and use network where they can send orders, receive invoices, and pack products via shipment documents in the format appropriate for them.

After the Retailer sends their specification to us, our development goes as follows: design, implementation, and testing. The Implementation Engineer is responsible for the implementation phase, during which he/she creates and maintains Java plugins that do data transformation according to the business requirements of our customers.

Your Team: There are around 30 people on the Ukrainian TPD team. You will be reporting directly to one of the managers. You will also be enrolled on a 3-month long introduction to EDI learning program, fully paid, and have a trainer and a buddy/mentor to help you get comfortable on the job as soon as possible.

• Main Technologies: Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XSLT, Python
• DBMS: SQL
• Cloud provider: Amazon Web Services (S3)
• Issue tracking: Jira, Confluence
• Continuous Integration Platform: Jenkins
• Main Data Formats: EDI, XML, APP, CSV
• Agile: Scrum, 2-week sprints, retrospectives

What We Expect of You:

• Basic knowledge of Java and SQL
• Upper-Intermediate English (at least)
• Analytical mind
• Being able to work full time

Extra Points For:

• Work experience with Java
• Experience with Git version control system
• General understanding of e-commerce and electronic data interchange (EDI)
• Familiarity with the Agile development methodology
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Experience working in a team environment
