UI/UX Designer | Eagle Genomics, UK

On behalf of Eagle Genomics, GT is looking for an inspired UI/UX Designer to join our prototyping team building prototypes in the fields of microbiology, sustainable agriculture, food, personal care, and cosmetics, using the latest technologies to enable data-driven discovery.

Eagle Genomics is expanding our Prototyping team with an experienced UI/UX Designer. Your primary mission will be to understand our core business needs, platform requirements and transform that understanding into user-focused and intuitive interfaces and experiences.

You will be working closely with the product management, Data Science and engineering teams as well as have access to the leadership team, and act as an advocate for all users of the platform. As the Interaction Designer, you will visually, and verbally present solutions required for the advancements of users’ experience. You will work in a highly fast-paced agile environment.

Being the UI/UX Designer, you will identify ways for how product designs can be simplified and how we can integrate a mix of interaction and visual experience into the business’s product. You will engage in information architecture, designing and prototyping. We are interested in candidates with a technical background who can facilitate discussion with engineering teams. You will be working with other UI/UX designers that are focused on the product side.

Your Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of commercial experience
• Strong communication skills, and an ability to manage one's own time and workload well
• Ability to work alongside our developers and deeply technical users (who are themselves bioinformaticians or data scientists) to scope, prototype, and design new features
• Work with the engineering team to ensure that designs are technically achievable and that the final product meets the requirements
• Comfortable to work with not so well-defined requirements and keen to learn new technical domains
• Sketch and prototype ideas to quickly assess their viability as low-fidelity templates and after progressive improvement and refining ideas, design the fine-grained details of components, interactions, and transitions
• Experience in UI/UX design for technical SaaS web applications or software
• Mastery of design and prototyping tools (Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma)
• Experience in designing SaaS products
• Experience in Web development
• Demonstration of collaboration with product and engineering teams in an agile environment
• Create wire flows and sitemaps to help improve navigation and information architecture
• Design new graphs and data visualizations for new prototypes generated by the Data Science team
• Experience with complex and high dimensional data visualizations, as well as the design of multiple interactive charts/plots
• Fluent English.

Preferred

• Experience with Life Science (biology, science, pharma) business domain
• Experience with SAS, SPSS, Tableau and/or other analytics software packages (Python, R, etc)
• Experience with graph data visualization and building journeys through the graph
• Previous experience working with data science and analytics teams.

How will you work?

You will work directly with a client through our Extended Team model. We try to do things differently and put our efforts to integrate you as deeply as possible into the client's team. You work with the same tools and technologies as they do and communicate directly with a client without any intermediary in between. We help you build relationships and create an environment where you genuinely feel like a member of the core product team. Our clients usually (before the pandemic) came for a week each month and spend a lot of time with the team in Kyiv. We also encourage trips to a client and joint teambuilding and after-work activities. Our Extended Team model is focused on long-term projects that last over several years.
