Job Title: Logistics Assistant

Location: Lviv, Ukraine

Line Manager to: Logistics Officer 

Line Manager for: Non 

Works in collaboration with: Admin-Finance department and Program department


Salary    and conditions : Salary will be defined based on the incumbent's experience and competencies in accordance with the TGH's salary scale and terms and conditions.

Established in 1994, TGH (Triangle Generation Humanitaire) is a French international solidarity organization based in Lyon. The organization implements emergency, humanitarian, rehabilitation and development programs in WASH, Food Security and Livelihoods, Shelter/Rehabilitation, Education and Protection sectors. TGH currently operates in 10 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

TGH applies a 'zero tolerance' policy with regard to all misconduct affecting the professional credibility of its employees: TGH staff; partners (local or international) and service providers.

TGH strongly condemns all corporal punishment or physical violence, threats of physical violence, sexual abuse or exploitation, harassment and verbal abuse, as well as all other forms of intimidation.

Presentation of the mission:

Operational in Ukraine since 2016 from Kramatorsk to support the most vulnerable populations affected by the conflict in the Donbass region, TGH wishes to continue and strengthen its intervention in Ukraine. In view of the current situation, part of the team has been forced to move to Lviv, a city that now hosts the entire humanitarian and diplomatic community, to ensure its safety. It is therefore from Lviv, located on the western border and still spared by the fighting, that TGH intends to propose an action to respond to the most urgent humanitarian needs.  


1. Responsibilities and related tasks

S/he assists logistics coordinator and officer in logistics and procurement activities of TGH Ukraine mission.

A. Procurement:

  • Assist the logistics coordinator and officer in the procurement activities
  • Collect quotes from suppliers/shops
  • Check prices in the market
  • Find new suppliers and shops for needed items and services
  • Archive properly procured files
  • Ensure the usage of proper purchase documents templates
  • Check the quality of the items purchased in link with the requester

b. Transportation/Cargo:

  • Assist the logistics coordinator and officer in the transportation/cargo activities.
    1. Put in place the handling operation to load or off load and store the goods in good condition.
    2. Report any claims at the delivery of goods if necessary, proceed accordingly to recommendations.

C. Stock management:

  • Assist the logistics coordinator and officer in the stock management activities.
    1. Assist the officer in the physical inventory check on a monthly basis.
    2. Make sure that stock rooms are physically well organized

D. Assets:

  1. Make sure assets are properly identified (tagged), stored, used.

E. Premises:

  • Assist the logistics coordinator and officer in the premises maintenance activities.
  • Proceed to prospecting and visit of premises when new spaces are needed
  • Regularly check the good condition of the premises and propose any rehabilitation, reparation when required.
  • Follow up all supplies of the base on a regular basis: water network, electricity, drinking water, wastes disposal. 

Any other tasks asked by the line Manager may be required for the running of the projects


2. Required knowledge, skills and personal features:

  • University degree in relevant field
  • driving license
  • Short experience in similar position
  • INGO experience n the same field is added value
  • Ukrainian, Russian and English read, spoken, written
  • Basic knowledge of logistics and the supply chain management
  • Know and apply TGH purchasing rules and validation process
  • Very good skills in computing (hardware & software-Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • Ability to manage suppliers and services suppliers
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize the tasks and delegate some
