About REACH Initiative
REACH is a unique humanitarian NGO, which provides research, data, and analysis to support more effective humanitarian action in crisis contexts. By providing precise and reliable information on the humanitarian situation of populations in Ukraine, REACH’s work informs better delivery of aid and more transparent decision making. In Ukraine, REACH has a supportive and closely working team, spread across seven bases (Kyiv, Lviv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Kropyvnytskyi, Odessa and Dnipro), all of whom are dedicated to producing high quality research to improve the situation for people in Ukraine. REACH is seeking an entry-level candidate with some previous experience in Data to join our growing team as a Data Officer. The ideal candidate will be a new graduate or early career professional, who is motivated to develop their skills and learn in a supportive environment, whilst helping the humanitarian response.
Duties and Areas of Responsibility
- Support REACH’s Joint Market Monitoring Initiative (JMMI) to inform the humanitarian response in Ukraine.
- Build mobile data collection tools using KoBo Collect and ensure the quality of the collected data through set of data checking and cleaning procedures utilizing R.
- Analyze collected data using R and present results in the form of static and\or interactive visualizations.
- Develop your technical skills in the humanitarian sector in Ukraine, with the support of our specialist Assessment, Data and GIS teams.
Person Specification
- Experience in a sphere of social sciences, data science or information management is desirable.
- Experience with Excel is required, and experience working in R and/or python is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in the humanitarian sector desirable but not required.
- Prior experience using PowerBI or other similar data visualization tools is a strong asset.
- Fluency in Ukrainian and/or Russian, and good English required.
- Interest in working as part of a team is essential, along with self-motivation and a willingness to take initiative and ownership of tasks.
- The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and passionate about improving the humanitarian response in Ukraine.
Terms and Conditions
This full-time post is for an initial 6 months, with the possibility of renewal following successful completion. We offer a competitive salary, based on the candidates experience and skills.

This position would ideally be located in Lviv but posting in another of our office locations (Kyiv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Kropyvnytskyi, Odesa or Dnipro) is possible for a strong candidate.
