Under the supervision of the AGORA Unit Manager, the AGORA Database Assistant is responsible for the processes and outputs related to data processing in the country. She/he will support data cleaning, data processing, data analysis, and data visualization activities in cooperation with IMPACT team in country and in Geneva.

FUNCTIONS

 

  1. 1. Data processing/Data transformation activities

The AGORA Database Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Coding of questionnaires and tools for field data collection;
  • Providing data analysis support to the AGORA Unit including but not limited to data cleaning, data processing, data analysis and data visualization;
  • Providing information management (IM) support to the AGORA Unit including questionnaire preparation and daily IM support during data collection and reporting process;
  • Supporting the development of internal IM procedures and guidelines.

 

  1. 2. Capacity building activities

The AGORA Database Assistant will support or conduct trainings in elementary data analysis and data management for non-tech audience (capacity building).

 

  1. 3. Internal Communication Processes

The AGORA Database Assistant will work closely with AGORA Unit Manager, IMPACT Database officer and IMPACT GIS Officer in country to guarantee a quality of all AGORA products.

 

 

  1. 4. Confidentiality and Data Protection

The AGORA Database Assistant will maintain the strictest confidentiality of data and processes. He/she will actively take measures to prevent the unauthorized sharing of information and data.

 

Qualifications

  • Full working proficiency in English required;
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Social Sciences, or any relevant discipline;
  • Essential minimum technical qualifications:
  • MS Excel: advanced usage of formulas, pivot tables, wide datasets;
  • Desirable technical qualifications:
  • Previous experience with mobile data collection tools (ODK, KOBO, Ona) and understanding of questionnaire design workflow;
  • Familiarity with XLS-Form standard;
  • Data processing and analysis experience using R or Python;
  • 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in humanitarian context is an asset;
  • Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to think creatively in terms of tool and process development and optimization;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to ever-changing needs and responsibilities;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Familiarity with the aid system and understanding of donor and governmental requirements is an asset.
