Assessment Officer

Remuneration: USD 950 before taxation



Under the supervision of the REACH Assessment Officer in Kyiv, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the coordination of area-based assessments, design of data collection tools, data analysis and reporting for REACH assessments in the field.




Planning and research design

  • Assist in coordination with the Technical Assessment Working Group (TAWG) to incorporate recommendations from NGO and UN partners into research design and methodology
  • Contribute to the development of data collection tools for surveys, key informant interviews, focus group discussions based on established research designs


Data collection

  • Support the REACH Programme Officer and Team Leaders in daily work during data collection
  • Design and support training of enumerators on data collection process and tools
  • During data collection, monitor enumerators' work through field visits and daily validation of sampling through KOBO under the supervision of the Assessment Officer in Kyiv.


Output production

  • Conduct analysis of secondary data and primary data collected during the assessments
  • Liaise with the GIS and data teams in the production of analytical tools
  • Draft narrative in Ukrainian and English and support the Assessment Officer in validation of findings with the TAWG and with IMPACT Headquarters.
  • Ensure adequate storage and filing of all assessment related documents
  • Any additional tasks as required by the Assessment Officer in Kyiv




  • University level education in social sciences, political sciences, research or relevant field


Technical requirements

  • At least 1 year of progressively responsible experience in programme management, data collection and/or report writing
  • Prior professional experience with Adobe products preferred
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite including Excel skills
  • Understanding and familiarity with structures of datasets and frequency tables
  • Previous experience in managing complex professional relationships
  • Excellent English, Russian and Ukrainian reporting writing skills
