Python Engineer

Edvantis opens the position of Python Engineer to work on the project of our partner - US-based data analytics company that serves companies operating in the hydrocarbon industry, especially those who are focused on exploration and production activities. The product distributes information about onshore oil and gas drilling activities, giving its customers a complete perspective of the sector in the investment decision-making process.

Edvantis started working with this customer about 2 years ago. Now the team is about 35 engineers in two Edvantis locations (Lviv and Wroclaw). Our engineers work on several customer projects as part of customer teams. The customer develops a large ecosystem of products related to that domain including complex data storage and pipelines, web, mobile, and desktop.

Responsibilities:

The overall team is periodically changing the structure and constantly grow. Therefore, you will join the data acquisition sub-team.

• Backend development of new functionality
• Utilizing various technologies based on particular ask needs
• Understanding of complex distributed architecture, container-based environments
• Track the document and task status in the ticketing system
• Provide other team members with guidance
• Participate in the onboarding and training
• Work with the team and communicate with the client
• Be ready for business trips to the USA, occasionally

Position Requirements:

• 3+ years of commercial backend development experience with Python or Java
• Being 'make things done' backend engineer rather than an expert in a single area
• Good experience with SQL, you should understand T-SQL
• A desire to use any tool suitable for particular business needs
• Intermediate+ written and spoken English
