Pharmaxi has an exciting opening for a Middle or Sr. Java Developer / Java Engineer. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cutting-edge distributed solutions in the Real-World Evidence (RWE) area, utilized by the researchers in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industries. We are looking for a self-driven individual who can hit the ground running, quick learner and wants to be a part of our dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

· Develop complex, distributed, modular applications in a multi-tiered environment;

· Develop solutions in Agile fashion following Scrum process and Test-Driven approach enabled with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence).

· Develop solutions by applying industry best practices and coding standards

· Document architecture design by creating necessary architecture artifacts, including UML domain models, component and deployment diagrams. Document business requirements as user stories.

· Work closely with Lead Architect / Technical lead to implement designs.

Qualifications:

· Experience in Java 3+ years;

· Bachelor or Master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science - or equivalent experience in information technology and software development - is required;

· Practical experience developing complex solutions with the following technologies required:

• Spring (IOC, MVC)/Hibernate;
• Web Services - REST, JSON, SOAP/WS;
  
• Strong knowledge of database design, advanced SQL (PostgreSQL is perfect)

· Good OOP skills.

· Good verbal and written English skills.

Desirable (will be considered as a significant advantage)

· Big Data platforms e.g. AWS RedShift / Spark / EMR or Cloudera Hadoop / Spark / Impala;

· NoSQL data stores and search engines, e.g. SOLR;

· Knowledge in any JavaScript framework (React is preferred);

· Experience in application deploying and supporting in a cloud service; 

· Creative thinking and the ability to quickly grasp new concepts.

Salary range: $3500 - $4500 (will be determined by the results of the interview)
