Crew Operator

Nordic-Hamburg Ship Management is a full suite ship management company with a global footprint, having offices in Hamburg, Hong Kong and Odessa. Due to an ongoing fleet expansion and in order to strengthen our Crew Operations Center in Odessa we are looking to hire a highly motivated Crew Operator to join our team.

The Crew Operator reports to the Crew Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring that all seafarers are properly qualified in accordance with International (STCW) and Flag State regulations, are medically fit and comply with company policies and customer requirements.

DUTIES & CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

The Crew Operator's duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Optimal Crew change planning
• Ensuring that Seafarers comply with all specified criteria for their corresponding rank including STCW, Flag State and vessel requirements;
• Coordination of the processing of flag state documents and visas as required;
• Making travel arrangements for crew to join and leave the vessel, liaising with Travel agents, Manning Agents and Port agents as required;
• Monitoring the performance of sea staff via the appraisal system;
• Maintenance of crew records, and vessel correspondence;
• The preparation of reports and records for management;
• Checking invoices/disbursements relating to crewing;
• Liaising with other departments as required for arrangements of training, briefings and debriefings

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform other tasks as assigned by the management in accordance with company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

College graduate or equivalent professional qualification;

At least two (2) years experience in manning/ship management is preferred.

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES

The ability to bring forward suggestions for process improvements including simplification and optimization;

Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal);

Excellent coordination skills;

High proficiency is MS Office applications.
