The role:

Expanding FinTech company is seeking to hire an Operations Manager to join the leadership team. You will be in charge of providing inspired leadership for the company's operation in Mumbai (India) for customer service, back-office, and collections units, which involves making important policy and strategic decisions, as well as the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. You will also be assisting our Human Resources department with recruiting, when necessary, and help promote a

company culture that encourages morale and performance. This position reports directly to the COO of the company.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspired leadership for the managed units (about 15 people in subordination and growing).
  • Work closely with COO and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures and incentive systems and to follow through with implementation
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations
  • Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel and discipline employees
  • Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to revenues
  • Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale
  • Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace
  • Support worker communication with the management team
  • Work with senior stakeholders
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company
  • Manage relationships with key operations/collections external providers like banks, collections agencies etc
  • Track vendor pricing, rebates and service levels
  • Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in economics/finance/management (or related fields)
  • 3-5 years of experience in management, operations, and leadership in banking or financial institution
  • Experience in debt collections will be a plus
  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash-flow management
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
  • Solid understanding of financial management.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills, Decision Making, Influencing and Leading, Team player, Planning and organizing, Leadership skills, Adaptability
  • Excellent communication skills and upper-intermediate English
