Assistant Maritime Construction Engineer

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is currently seeking an Assistant Maritime Construction Engineer to join our growing team in Ukraine. This individual will aid in developing new Maritime Facilities. The position is entry level but has the possibility of promotion for motivated and competent individuals. Applicants should prepare to commit themselves to the project for a 2-year period.

Position requires fulltime location within Kyiv, Ukraine with frequent travel to other areas outside of Kyiv. Applicants from outside of Kyiv will be considered but must be willing to relocate.

Position Description:

• Provide support for our Maritime Engineer's existing portfolio.
• Assist in tasks related to current maritime construction projects in Ukraine.
• Assist in providing needed technical information for developing construction concepts and projects, including drafting in AutoCAD.
• Assist with procurement efforts both in requirement creation, purchasing, and delivery, including through bidding procedure.
• Facilitate communication with the partners and team management regarding project status/concerns.
• Assists in managing subcontractors.
• Maintain familiarity with scopes of work and designs to ensure subcontractor compliance.
• Facilitate communication with the design organizations and authorities.

Position Requirements

• Fluent English both written and spoken is mandatory.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in maritime management, logistics, hydrotechnical, or other related fields.
• Minimum 1 year of maritime-related experience preferably in management, logistics, or hydrotechnical fields.
• Ability to read an interpret AutoCAD drawings required
• Ability to create AutoCAD or 2D plans preferred.
• Ability to interpret budgets in АВК-5.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel especially related to cost calculations, project management, and project scheduling.
• Experience in bidding procedures.
• Previous experience working with Ukrainian government agencies highly preferred.
