MISSION
MdM has been operating in Ukraine since August 2015 and is currently implementing an emergency response and recovery program in different regions in Ukraine. The program is implemented around three main components: direct delivery of services through multidisciplinary mobile units (including primary healthcare services (PHC), sexual and reproductive health (SRH), Mental Health and Psychosocial support services (MHPSS) and gender-based violence (GBV) response services); strengthening of local health system (with a specific focus on PHC, SRH, MHPSS and GBV) through capacity building of health and non-health staff, awareness raising and advocacy.
GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE OF INTERVENTION:
MHPSS Manager is based in Dnipro supporting activities in Zaporitzhzhia and Kharkiv.
ORGANIZATION CHART
Under the direct supervision of Field Coordinator and with direct technical supervision of MHPSS Deputy Coordinator, MHPSS Manager, implements and follows up the MHPSS activities in the areas of intervention of Dnipro MdM Base.
JOB SUMMARY
MHPSS Manager is responsible for planning, implementation and follow-up of MHPSS activities in the given project scope, with the primary objective to ensure access to MHPSS services in line with MdM’s technical framework.
FUNCTIONS
Main Responsibilities:
Project and Activity Planning and Implementation
- Take primary responsibility for project planning, management, including the development and implementation of detailed work plans, activity plans, monitoring plans, in order to achieve quality and effective implementation of psychosocial support project.
- Plan and ensure the implementation of training, supervision in line with the program terms of reference and technical framework of the intervention selected.
- Draft narrative reports based on field activities in coordination with the MEAL Officer.
- Coordinate with local partners NGOs, State social protection, to establish and regularly update service mapping for cross-referrals.
- Ensure implementation of the activities in line with IASC MHPSS Guidelines and relevant national/international standards, MdM internal policies, codes of conduct, and humanitarian principles.
PROGRAMMING
Community Awareness Raising
- To plan, organize and conduct awareness raising activities in line with MdM methodology and quality standards that raise awareness and increase knowledge on MHPSS and GBV for communities
- To assess the needs for awareness development in communities and developing strategies of how to reach particular vulnerable groups.
- To ensure delivery of MHPSS awareness raising sessions in accordance assessed needs and level of knowledge of community in accordance with MdM's MHPSS technical framework upon validation from MHPSS Deputy Coordinator
Community Mental Health related to COVID response
- To support implementation of MHPSS capacity building programs for community health focal points; for PHC staff; for Health staff in health facilities, including recruitment; co-training; supervision; follow-up; monitoring in accordance to the program scope and plan.
MHPSS Direct service provision for health staff
- To organize direct service provision for healthcare provider in accordance with technical guidance and established intervention.
Protection mainstreaming
- To develop cross-referrals with other providers state and NGOs working with GBV survivors; people with disabilities in the communities served to ensure the needs of vulnerable groups of populations are addressed
MONITORING AND REPORTING
- To contribute to regular reports on MHPSS activities, to Field Coordinator (SitRep)
- To thoroughly follow monitoring and evaluation framework by timely completing the required reporting on individual and group wellbeing and technical supervision form.
COORDINATION WITH NGOS, LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS
- To maintain regular contacts with other NGOs and organizations, through meetings, training, workshops, etc. Supported by Field Coordinator
- To update the mapping of service providers available
- To ensure coordination and communication with MHPSS providers: state, NGOs, INGOs
- To provide reports on meetings attended
- To develop partnerships with other community-based organizations aiming contributing to strengthening community based MHPSS supports by complimenting services and establishing cross-referrals.
SECURITY

OTHER
- To abide by MdM norms, principles and code of conduct
- To be flexible in performing his/her duties to ensure that beneficiaries receive quality services
- To maintain good socio-professional relationships with national and international partners
- To attend/participate in planning of the content of team meetings and to give qualitative input in order to improve services
- To perform other additional duties on request of MHPSS Deputy Coordinator and Field Coordinator

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Academic background: A Degree in Psychology
REQUIREMENTS:
Language requirements:
- Ukrainian and Russian
- English advanced (written and oral)
Computer requirements: Competency in Microsoft Office Environment.
EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate must have:
- At least 2 years of clinical mental health experience
- Experience developing and leading trainings on MHPSS and GBV, particularly with primary health care staff
- Experience with NGOs and health institutions
- Knowledge of public health and mental health issues in Ukraine
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize tasks
- Experience in working and meeting with local authorities, partners and staff in a difficult context
- Experience in clinical supervision and knowledge of MdM's approach to MHPSS is highly desirable
