Art Director

As a Art Director you guide execution on a diverse development team to build and launch a casual mobile game. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Work closely with the product owner, designers and engineers to establish the production pipeline and best practices for your game
• Create and maintain the brand/art style guides and technical documentation
• Mentor artists along their career paths, setting challenges to encourage & nurture growth
• Take ownership of the milestone planning, day-to-day feedback communications, and final quality of deliverables from external partners (outsourcing)
• Inspire and motivate the art team to achieve their best, driving artistic quality by example and successful team work, giving feedback and direction where needed
• Understand and work within project requirements and constraints
• Keep up to date with game artwork trends and influences
• Produce creative solutions to brand development through the creation or direction of conceptual art for characters, environments and gameplay artwork

Experience & qualifications:

• At least 5 years of game art production experience, including 2 years of successful experience in art quality assurance
• A thorough understanding of art outsourcing pipelines, capacities and technical constraints related to different game engines
• Strong ability in writing documentation and apply it in art production
• Proven proficiency in current 2D and 3D application
• Define the visual identity of the game
• Create the art style-guide for in-game assets and UI
• Set up the best practices and standards for production based on industry benchmarks and share your expertise with the team members
• Oversee art hiring, development and resourcing
• Review and validate the assets
• Oversee the whole game graphic quality and art content production in collaboration with the team lead
• Strong communication (oral and written Russian& English) and collaboration skills
