Head of Procurement

Ajax Systems, the most awarded wireless security system provider in Europe, is in a search of a professional and dedicated individual for the role of Head of Procurement, who is willing to take on the responsibility to lead all global procurement efforts in the fast-growing Company with over 1,100 employees and sales to over 120 global markets. Position assumes reporting to the Supply Chain Director.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Overall responsibility for Purchasing and Cost Estimating activities across the business.
• Create and implement best practice purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
• Hold responsibility for cost.
• Prepare the monthly/annual Purchasing budget and forecasts.
• Add value creation, reduce costs and make business improvements.
• Develop, implement and maintain a supplier relationship and evaluation process to measure effective supplier performance and compliance.
• Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders if appropriate.
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers to sustain a competitive edge.
• Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on supply. Simultaneously, recommend solutions without compromising quality while optimising cost.
• Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Purchasing activities.
• Take ownership of the purchasing budget, policy, guidelines and any associated documents.
• Main procurement KPI’s achievement.
• Provide mentorship to department under control, set its objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance.
• Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements.

Requirements for a successful candidate:?

• Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) (finance in priority).
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years in procurement management or consulting.
• Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.
• Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets.
• Experience with modern sourcing and procurement systems.
• Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
• Excellent organizational and Team management skills.
• Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
