Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is an international humanitarian non-governmental organization that promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems of refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide.
Since 2014, DRC has been working in Ukraine with the goal of providing immediate support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the affected population in the east of the country. The head office of the DRC in Ukraine is located in Kyiv, the program branches are in Mariupol, Sloviansk and Severodonetsk.
DRC Ukraine is looking for a Project Officer for its country office in Kyiv.
The Project Officer will be recruited under the project 'IDPs Integration Support Initiative in Ukraine' which is funded by USAID Democratic Governance East Activity. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the well-being of IDPs and conflict-affected persons by strengthening the capacities of Government institutions in Ukraine. This will be achieved through strengthening the capacity of the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine (MRTOT) to lead the evidence-based policy planning towards the integration of IDPs (output 1.1) and providing technical assistance to the MRTOT to design indicators to measure IDP integration in Ukraine, based on the best national and international practices (output 1.2)
Overall purpose of the role
This role has a country focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the country. The role contributes to the development of country strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks. The role provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities.
