Senior Java Engineer, Trading System

The client is a top global investment management company, managing several USD trillion of assets. The client hires DataArt to develop and modernize their core trading systems.

The client's existing team is primarily located in the US (New York, Los Angeles), so verbal & written English communication is a key requirement. The candidate should have a proven background in implementing high-load distributed systems. An expertise in trading technologies and knowledge of capital markets would be a big plus.

Technology stack: Java, Spring, Oracle, Apache Kafka.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of backend development experience using Java, Spring, and messaging technologies
• Solid experience in developing high-load distributed systems
• Good understanding of REST technologies (REST design, RESTful services)
• Good understanding of relational database issues (query performance, indexing, partitioning)
• Experience with developing systems handling large volumes of data
• Knowledge of OracleDB
• Ability to communicate with business stakeholders, understand businesses pain points, requirements, and to translate these into winning solutions
• A strong understanding of information systems, key technologies, and their limitations
• Experience with multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments across various domains
• Able to analyze other developers code using basic reverse engineering techniques
• Experience in conducting code reviews
• Experienced in understanding and documenting functional and technical requirements, able to create and deliver compelling presentations
• Ability to communicate technical requirements and transfer knowledge to a project team, to communicate effectively with project managers and team leaders, with the ability to guide and coach team members in developing technical solutions
• Good spoken English
