Mobile Protocol Developer, Communications Services

Our client is a global provider of testing, analytics, and security solutions for the telecommunications sector.

DataArt's specialists are helping to develop an analytical solution which tracks transactions that determine the quality of customer experience with network service providers (QoE). From these transactions, key indicators are displayed, such as radio frequency performance, base signal speed, and service performance (VoLTE, SMS). All metrics are combined into the final QoE estimates, which are used to determine hot spots and help localize and solve service quality problems.

Team: 10+ developers, Ukraine. Technology stack: Unix, Bash, Perl, C++.

Responsibilities

• Define test solutions for the main wireless network including requirements analysis and high-level design
• Analyze wireless 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards and other technical sources
• Understand the requirements of customers and product managers
• Find and fix complex technical issues relating to software and hardware
• Perform unit tests and integration tests for the implemented solution
• Create technical design documentation and source materials for user documentation

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of experience in IT
• Experience in C/C++ programming
• Knowledge of 4G/5G network access protocols (RLC/PDCP/RRC)
• Basic knowledge of object oriented analysis (OOA) and object oriented design (OOD)
• Experience with TCP/IP-based packet protocol stacks and protocol implementation
• Excellent real-time software development skills for Linux
• Motivated, initiative, willing to work with difficult and interesting tasks
• Excellent problem solving and teamwork skills
• Practical experience in a structured software development environment, including analysis/definition of requirements, design, defects, tracking, configuration management, and software structure testing
• Good spoken English

Additional Competencies

• Knowledge of 5G gNB-DU/gNB-CU and the F1AP interface (F1AP and F1-U)
• Experience with TCL scripts
• Experience integrating and debugging software and hardware
