Cashier

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 19,000-field staff.

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Dnipro, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Odesa.

The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the position of Cashier in its sub-delegation in Dnipro.

Purpose: 

Cashier 1 is accountable for the physical processing of cash transactions and the integrity of physical cash balances in a sub-delegation, strictly respecting and applying the ICRC rules on financial management.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Does payments in cash against validated invoices;
• Strictly applies financial and payment procedures and explains them to the 'clients';
• Files cash related documents and keeps the cash statement up to date;
• Prepares and pays invoices and working advances;
• Forwards all completed payment documents to the accountant every day;
• Performs daily cash control;
• Keeps record and monitors open working advances in compliance with internal procedures;
• Collaborate with the supervisor with regards to cash needs of the organization;
• Checks the invoices for bank payments;
• Reports of any cash discrepancies immediately;
• Creates new suppliers in JDE (IRIS software).

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Secondary school level or technical college;
• 2 years work experience in a similar field of activity is an asset;
• Fluent command of English;
• Computer literacy;
• Rigorous and methodical person;
• Capacity to adhere to ICRC procedures.
