QUALITY CONTROLLER / STOREKEEPER

 AIM OF THE POSITION

As Quality Controller, s/he is responsible for testing the quality of incoming non-medical goods. S/he implements and ensures the smooth running of the ICRC’s quality policy. As Storekeeper, s/he is responsible for the proper handling and storage of goods in the warehouse in accordance with ICRC Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs)

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives and checks incoming goods against the delivery note and reports any issues.
• Inspect quality of incoming goods
• Ensures that goods are properly stored, picked, packed and loaded and reports any issues.
• Ensures that all the stored goods are properly labelled (expiry dates, batch numbers, manufacturer, etc.) and recorded.
• Weighs and tallies goods during loading and unloading.
• Updates bin cards and stock cards when supervising an inventory transaction.
• Participates in inventory counts.
• Keeps the facility's equipment and materials neat, clean and orderly and reports any issues.
• Ensures that temperatures are properly recorded.
• Replaces the Warehouse Supervisor during his absence.

The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and professional qualifications

• Secondary school diploma
• Vocational training in administration or logistics, or equivalent experience.
• Good command of English.
• Minimum two years' experience in Storekeeping, Warehousing, Transport or Logistics.
• Minimum two years’ experience in Quality Inspection and Control and/or Quality Standards
• Team-management experience an asset
• Holding driver license – category B
• Holding forklift driver license an asset
  

Personal Competencies

• Conversant with information systems (JD Edwards an asset)
• Fully conversant with IT tools (Excel, Outlook, …)
• Strongly motivated by humanitarian work
• Open-minded and adaptable
• Able to cope with stress
• Well organized and analytical
