    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

    The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 19,000 field staff.

    In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Lugansk and Odesa.

    • Typically, a 4-year University degree in Humanitarian Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International transport, business trade, or Humanitarian Supply Chain Management. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
    • Sets up, adapts and maintains infrastructure according to needs, in collaboration with the Logistics Country Manager.
    • Is responsible for implementing logistics procedures on-site in accordance with financial procedures and the logistics strategy for the country.
    • Maintains and ensures proper use of general and specialized logistics IT tools.
    • Oversees and coordinates statistical reporting, queries and inventories.
    • Manages supply-chain requests and ensures they are treated in a timely fashion; supervises customer desk service and carries out related reporting.
    • Ensures collaborative demand planning is carried out with other departments; ensures information is shared with the delegation and the Logistics Country Manager.
    • Plans and oversees procurement activities (purchase orders, supplier files, sourcing, etc.).
    • Sets up, operates and manages warehouse and stock inventory.
    • Is in charge of fleet management, transport and distribution activities.
    • Follows up on the supply pipeline with the delegation, the Logistics Support Centre and/or headquarters, including for import-export activities where necessary.
    • Is in charge of capacity-building and HR-related matters for logistics on site.
    • Is responsible for managing finances for the cost centre(s) under their responsibility.
    • The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.
