    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.
    The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 19,000 field staff.
    In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

    AIM OF THE POSITION
    The HR Assistant, as a part of the Human Resources department, is the focal point for all HR related matters in Sub-delegations and Kyiv delegation, ensuring a smooth HR workflow of the organization and assuring compliance to local requirements to personnel administration and ICRC policies and procedures. The HR Assistant works in close collaboration with the HR Team in Kyiv and HR teams in Sub-Delegations.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
    Employees’ relation and counseling:  Acting as point of contact for the HR Assistants in Sub Delegations and employees to build a trustful relationship, providing information and supporting employees and managers in cases such as HR initiatives, administrative cases, promotions, organizational changes, , etc.
    HR Administration: Support administrators for the sites in creating and maintaining employee’s file up-to-date in HR System, support in preparing all HR related documents such as employment contracts, following-up and documenting appraisals, promotions and holiday balances, ensuring follow-up of medical expenses and salary calculation in Sub Delegations and Delegation in Kyiv.
    Other: Active contribution to HR projects, coordinating closely with the HR administrators in Sub Delegations and in Kyiv and assisting HR team in Kyiv in administering programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organization.
    The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

    POSITION REQUIREMENT
    Education and professional qualifications
    • Secondary school level or technical college. High education is advantage
    • 2 -3 years’ work experience in HR or a similar field of activity
    • Good knowledge of spoken and written English
    • Good computer knowledge
    • Capacity to adhere to and to implement procedures
    • Good communication skills
    • Rigor, method and analytical  skills

    • Genuine interest to work in humanitarian aid field;
    • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and take initiative;
    • Ability to work under minor supervision;
    • Very good communication skills;
    • Assertiveness and enthusiasm;
