REPORTING AND ACCOUNTABILITY OFFICER, DELEGATION IN UKRAINE

WHAT WE DO:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 20,000 field staff.

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 600 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

AIM OF THE POSITION:

 

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Reporting and Accountability officer to work within our Management team and transversally with various operational departments. S/he is accountable for (1) the production and or compilation of English written reports related to ICRC's humanitarian response in eastern Ukraine and (2) actively supports the ICRC in its efforts to document, review and improve its accountability to affected people (AAP).

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES :

 

  • Consolidate and analyze data on program implementation and indicators - to facilitate the preparation of periodic or ad hoc reports;
  • Collect and cross checks information from various internal and external sources;
  • Summarize information to present the ICRC's analysis, assessment, objectives, programs and activities in a synthesized, coherent and attractive format;
  • Document and produce reports on the delegation's experiences, lessons learned, and activities to improve accountability to affected people (AAP);
  • Contributes to building awareness and understanding of AAP within the ICRC and supports operational departments in their efforts to translate into action the ICRC's AAP principles (into programming and processes);
  • Be a resource person on best practices in reporting.

The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education and Professional qualification :

  • Higher education (master's degree or equivalent);
  • At least 4 years of relevant professional experience;
  • Work experience in humanitarian sector in areas such as policy/coordination/M&E/diversity and inclusion (strong asset)
  • Outstanding written communication skills in English, Russian and Ukrainian;
  • Experience in analyzing and consolidating data, preparation of reports;

The following skills and experience will be an advantage:

  • Experience with digital media and online platforms;
  • Experience with basic graphic design.
