    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.



    The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 13,000 field staff.



    In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 300 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Ukraine is seeking to fill in the position of Psychologist in Severodonetsk sub-delegation.



    Main Responsibilities:



    • Implement MHPSS activities in line with the defined action plan and in collaboration with the MHPSS delegate;
    • Provide direct MHPSS to helpers (teachers, first aiders, volunteers...), such as regular group sessions involving psycho-education and stress management;
    • Provide indirect MHPSS to the affected populations/ beneficiaries through capacity building and training of helpers/ non-specialized MHPSS workers (teachers, first aiders, volunteers...) in basic psychosocial support;
    • Organize seminars and clinical supervision for volunteers;
    • Follow-up and monitoring of the above mentioned activities;
    • Maintain regular contact with other stakeholders involved in MHPSS activities in the country (networking) and make appropriate referrals to those services if necessary;
    • Work in close contact with other ICRC Departments (EcoSec, Protection, Wathab) to provide a more coordinated and integrated response to the needs;
    • Assess continuously the evolution of the situation and possible MHPSS needs (affected areas, vulnerable categories);
    • Compile work reports as required in English.



    The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.



    Minimum required knowledge & experience:



    • University degree in psychology;
    • 2 years' work experience (preferably in a similar field of activity);
    • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English;
    • Good knowledge about monitoring & evaluation approaches;
    • Very good computer literacy;
    • Good rigor, method and analytical skills;
    • Effective communication and training skills required;
    • Preferably experienced skills in clinical supervision;
    • Good knowledge of the political, social and cultural assigned environment.
