    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

     

     

    The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 13,000 field staff.

     

     

    In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 300 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

    CASHIER / SECRETARY

     

    Sloviansk based

     

     

    AIM OF THE POSITION

     

    • Support administration/finance workflow of the organization;
    • Act as a welcome focal point for the Sub-delegation.

     

     

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Performs various office works which require basic computer knowledge and secretarial skills (e.g. as typing of standard correspondence, filing, mail preparation and distribution, photocopies, updating of lists);
    • Arranges accommodation for colleagues and visitors in ICRC residence/guesthouse or hotels (hotel booking for guests, sending confirmation messages about accommodation, dealing with all welcome activities);
    • Does payments in cash (various currencies) against validated invoices;
    • Strictly applies financial and payment procedures, and explains them to colleagues;
    • Files documents and keeps the cash statement up to date;
    • Reports of any irregularities immediately;
    • Collects all necessary VAT documents (i.e. VAT notes, Act of Acceptance, etc.) from supplier and logistic department according to VAT procedures;
    • Translates simple documents for informal use;
    • Helps the superior in daily task and reports regularly the stand of the work to the superior;
    • Assures compliance to local requirements and to ICRC policies and procedures.

     

    The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

     

     

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

     

    Education and professional qualifications

     

    • Secondary school level or a technical school;
    • 2 years work experience in similar field of activity;
    • Good spoken and written knowledge of English;
    • Basic computer knowledge.

    • Strong sense of responsibility;

    • Good team player;
    • Rigorous and methodical person;
