The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.

 

The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 13,000 field staff.

 

In 2014, the ICRC expanded its presence to Ukraine. There are more than 300 ICRC staff working in Kyiv, Sloviansk, Severodonetsk, Mariupol, Donetsk, Luhansk and Odesa.

HR ASSISTANT

based in Kyiv

 

AIM OF THE POSITION

  • Support administrative workflow of the organization;
  • Assure compliance to local requirements to personnel administration and ICRC policies and procedures.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for up-to-date maintenance of Personnel Files;
  • Prepares full range of HR Administration documentation (employment contracts, ID cards, Orders, Personnel References/Statements etc.);
  • Manages Employees' absence records;
  • Drafts Job Descriptions according to the ICRC standard function descriptions;
  • Interacts with respective external authorities (GDIP, Tax office etc.) in order to support Personnel administrative workflow;
  • Maintains personnel records and all required data in internal ICRC database(s);
  • Interacts with other offices of ICRC Delegation in Ukraine, to assure timely and accurate Personnel documentation turnover and exchange;
  • Translates all types of documents from English to Ukrainian/Russian and vice versa;
  • Back-up Payroll performance when required.

 

 

The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education and professional qualifications

  • University graduate;
  • 2+ years of full-time experience in HR Administration (кадровое делопроизводство);
  • Very good knowledge of local labor legislation;
  • Experience to interact with internal and external Parties delivering consultancy and support;
  • Excellent command in English, fluency in Ukrainian and Russian;
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).

  • Genuine interest to work in humanitarian aid field;
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and take initiative;
  • Ability to work under minor supervision;
  • Very good communication skills;
  • Assertiveness and enthusiasm;
  • Strong sense of responsibility;
