    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance.


    The ICRC is mandated to work in countries affected by armed conflict or other situations of violence. The ICRC is present in over 80 countries and has some 13,000 field staff.


    In 2014, the ICRC opened its office in Donetsk. Today around 90 employees work for the ICRC in Donetsk.

    The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Donetsk is announcing opening for:



    Based in Donetsk




    The Water and Habitat Field Officer is in charge of rehabilitation and construction projects for the area of responsibility covered by the Sub-Delegation.




    1. Participates in the assessments, collecting and compiling technical information related to the rehabilitation and construction works of damaged houses.
    2. Prepares technical assessment of buildings and report through technical notes.
    3. Elaborate projects design, bills of quantities and costs' estimate for the proposed rehabilitation or construction works.
    4. Participates in preparation of tender documentation (including bills of quantities, specifications).
    5. Participates in the preparation of contractual documents, including advertisement, detailing payment terms, selection of winning contractor through criteria, and organizing payment according to measured works and ensure procedures and confidentiality are respected.
    6. Supervises daily workers and contractors in order to ensure that minimum standards of construction works are respected and are acceptable.
    7. Familiarity with the standard norms and rules in construction (known as СниП, ДСтУ, ДБН), knowledge of local techniques and requirements for construction.

    The tasks and responsibilities defined above are not exhaustive and can evolve depending on organizational needs.




    Education and professional qualifications

    1. Is qualified and registered professional.
    2. High Education (University or Institute) in Civil Engineering;
    3. 4 years' work experience in construction;
    4. Knowledge of Ukrainian construction norms and standards;
    5. Fluent Ukrainian and Russian languages. Good knowledge of spoken and written English is a strong asset;
    6. Good computer knowledge (MS Office programs, AutoCAD etc.);
    7. Good negotiation skills;
    8. Rigor, method and analytical skills.


    Personal Competencies

    1. Genuine interest to work in humanitarian aid field;
    2. Ability to work under minor supervision;
    3. Strong sense of responsibility;
    4. Communication skills;
