Corn Research Associate

Job profile 

Trained research scientist to coordinate and conduct experiments, implement innovative protocols, and conduct pipeline evaluation and product characterization of our pipeline to support our breeding deliverables for the area of specialization.

As a highly technical role it requires strong leadership and results orientation to ensure quality and success of our pipeline.

This role will have responsibility for a defined program of activity Phenotyping, Field Testing within a specific technology platform and operate in compliance with Safety, best  practices and standard operation procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with EMEA region and Global Breeding teams to deliver initiatives and global strategies
• Coordinate and assist with all related operations including seed handling, planting management, data collection, and harvesting
• Coordinate and assist in all seed lab operations including seed shelling, packaging, treating and packet arrangement
• Perform computer-related activities, including hand held data collection, data management, bar coding functions and providing support for all day-to-day activities
• Assist with timely and accurate data collection
• Support internal and external outreach opportunities
• Ensure supplies order and stock management, as well as contact with suppliers
• Improve protocols and methods, while keeping connected with counterpart roles in other countries or regions
• Develop an accurate planning and anticipation of activities

Requirements:

•  Holding of a Bachelor Agro Education (plant production, seeds, agronomy) with 3 years of experience
• Driving license for the car as well as for tractor and combine are mandatory
• Good English knowledge to be able to understand the foreign colleagues as well as equipment
• Knowledge in mechanics
• Good practice of IT tools (Pack Office) and strong adaptability to understand the IT tools developed internally.
• Flexibility and adaptivity, communication skills.
• Willingness for traveling across Ukraine.
